  1. I asked my mother about this, and this is what she had to say:

First you need to realize that the words are different. In Matthew the word fool is “moros” meaning dull, stupid, blockhead. The other word fool used is “aphros” meaning froth, ie slaver, foaming.

Notice Matthew is saying, whosoever says to his brother. This is talking about a fellow believer. If you call him a fool you are endanger of judgment. One believer talking about another believer.

  2. Geoff:
I’ve got a roadside repair manual for a 1974 Ford Cortina here and it says on page 124 that to dismount the main gear block flange assembly from the secondary coupling joint you must first ensure the drive shaft is disconnected from the front axle differential. What I think it’s meant to say is if you want your lemon meringue pastry to be flaky and light, you should first baste the baking tin with egg white.

  3. One factor of proof of divine inspirational of the Bible is its originality of contents, no attempt to adjust to suit some preference or ”polish” the character of some ”stars” in it.
Except for some ”misalignment” in translation (because many words may not be available in foreign languages) it has been presented as it was originally is.
In Mat. 5, what Jesus meant in the original Greek was, ”you’re no good for nothin”.

  4. I couldn’t disagree more. It’s the blatant plagiarism of every other creation myth and allegory from ancient Egyptian and Greek which makes the bible so obviously unoriginal. You could replace the names in vast swathes of it, the nativity for example, with any one of a thousand different hero warrior gods of the ancient world—each of whom were born to virgins to save mankind.

It’s the deceit which were supposed to blindly accept, that in this special case, the Jesus story is real and the others are fakes, which frustrates the sensible argument we should be having; the real and actual worth of clinging to something fundamentally dangerous and provable flawed—and all because the guess work of pre-bronze-age Palestinian goat herders is supposedly a more reliable historical source of objectivity than modern logic and anthropological discovery.

It’s demonstrable nonsense—which in any other area of life, you would see through as clearly as any other fake, were it not for the wilful act of religious non-thinking you’ve been brainwashed into calling faith.

  5. i think most Christians would find nothing wrong with this, they probably all agree they are in danger of hell – hey man these judeo-christian faiths are tbh extremely pessimistic
